Kasihku yang setia...
Hello all! =]
Ok let's see...
Last week was pretty mundane...
I think I should just pull out the most interesting stuff and leave out the rest...
So to me, the most interesting thing that happend to me...
Would be being chosen to conduct for Fouder's Day...
After 3 long years, I'm finally given the opportunity to conduct in an event...
But somehow I'm doubting my ability to conduct...
I know I've been doing it alot, but I've stopped for quite some time too...
Just need to get that confidence back I guess...
It happend last Friday...
After Friday prayers, I went for band...
Mr Yeo was not feeling so good, something was troubling his stomach...
I'm gonna skip the drama part, cause I don't have any right to comment on it...
I just hope everyone's happy at the end of the day...
So we played March Blue Sky...
Jaslyn has some problems with the high notes as usual...
But the song is almost filled with high notes, and I think with enough prac, she can play them...
Ok then after March Blue Sky, we started with Overture No. 1...
After Overture No.1, Mr Yeo asked me out to conduct Monmouth...
I mean, I was surprised of course...
First I thought Cliff would conduct, but somehow he picked me instead cause he wasn't able to come for Founder's Day...
So I went up and conduct...
Even before starting the song, my mind went blank...
TOO NERVOUS SIA...
Then I remembered the tempo was quick, so I just went "3...4..."
Only after the first beat that I remembered the tune...
The scariest part was that Mr Yeo was looking at me conduct!
Omg...
And yes band members, I scewed up at the 3/4 aka "The Angrincot Song" part...
I've never conducted the song before, so many apologies...
But somehow I managed to get on track and conduct properly...*blardy off beats, grrrr*
After the song ended, Mr Yeo said the band sounded better when I conducted...
After band prac, Cliff told me that my tempo was quite slow...=[
I conduct how I feel the piece should sound like, I mean, that's how most responsible conductors will do...
Maybe I'm just not cut out to be one, haiz...
But it's ok, I shall practice and practice till my hands get sore...=]
So 23rd March is that day...
Hopefully during the rehearsal I can get used to the whole conducting...
And familiarise myself with the place and accoustics...
Yea manz...
I'm so gonna rock the hall... =X
Ok sorry, got too excited...
Ok that's all for this entry...
Thanks for tuning in...
But before I go, I'll just list down the activities that I'm gonna have next week...
