Dear Me Myself and most of all, I..

2day, the 27th of March.. Nothing much actually happend la, so as to say... In the morning, I wake up, den couldn't sleep cuz sum "things" were troubling my mind, so i was rolling back and forth in my bed "thinking" of sumone... haiz... anywayz, wen i finally woke up, i went straight to the bathroom and washed myself up. After dat, I got ready for band, I was quite early 2day, as I alwayz like 2 challenge myself to be on the dot for band, i was early cuz i woke early and couldn't stand rolling on my bed for any longer... And so i drank a glass of milo and ate 2 pieces of bread and was set to school...

In school, I went to the music room and looked at the time and found out dat i was 5 mins faster, i thought to myself "well, it would be nice if i was on the dot, but anywayz, juz go for it" so I set-ted up my instrument and set-ted up 4 stands, 3 Tuba stands and 1 music stands, the 3 stands were for my juniors. And guess wat, I tooked out 3 tubas, not including mine, which makes dat 4, my band has onli 5 tubas(i am very tankful for dat), and all 5 are being used dis year... And so my band major told us to settle down as he took our attendance, I was abit worried wen one of my section members didn't come, den her fren came 2 me and told me dat she had excursion, so i was like going to have to teach 3 juniors by myself.... After the attendance have been taken, we were all told to go for our sectionals, b4 I went down for sectionals with my juniors, 2 of my juniors didn't have mouthpiece and one of dem did. So i brought down mine and she brought down hers and the other two juniors juz followed.

And some may ask, wat abt the other 2 tubas? Guess wat, dey were juz left there outside their case in the music room and wy? cuz 2 of the juniors didn't bring their mouthpiece...{-.-''} Well, anywayz, afew minutes later, my ex tuba senior came and i begged him to teach the juniors, and so he brought the 2 juniors up to the music room while i teach one of the junior. This junior can play, but sumtimes forgot the fingering or juz not used 2 it, so I thought to myself, maybe after afew more practices den she would be ok liaoz... I 1st taught her how 2 play the instrument without looking at the notes as it would be easier if she oleady know how 2 play d note and juz play d note wen looking at the note. Well, basicly the junior can play la, she'z a quiet junior and quite easy to follow instructions. Wen i see she was quite tired, i told her dat she could have a 5 mins break and come back to prac, and so she went to get her 5 mins break and I started to practice on my songs...

After 10 mins, I was so shiok playing my tuba, dat i forgot the time, den i say my junior and told her to come back, now, she was refreshed abit and could play abit well, but not as well as the first time cuz i could understand the fatigue dat she'z going thru... I realised that wen ur dealing with sumone else, let it be teaching or listening or talking to sumone, understanding the person plays a vital role in making the right comments and views. So anywayz, since I have been thru the fatigue, I could understand dat the lips get abit sore even though u get a break(try playing the tuba for 45mins continously , datz like 45 times more sore den juz playing in 1 min).

After an hour of practice, with breaks in the middle, my junior has successfully played the b-flat major scale(which is from doh to high doh), I was quite impressed and thought, no wonder the tuba was the easiest to learn. After teaching my junior, I had to go to my sectionals and the juniors go into the music room to have their combine. But my juniors were using my tuba, so i don't have a tuba to prac with, so i went down and saw the clarinet section, I went there and they told me to conduct for dem as nobody was there to conduct, so they played Arioso and Kyklades. I like to listen to dem play, sounds like so natural, and to conduct such piece is so nice. But being a conductor means u got to be very alert with the tempo, a slight increase in speed or decrease will send the whole song crashing on the tempo line.

Then it was time for the main band to go back to the music room and the juniors can go home. The main band was told to move their intruments to the hall as we were going to practice there. I was like, "!!!!!!!" bring the tuba and the case down to the hall... simply craziness... But wat the heck, I juz do it and it was done for. And so...we practiced and we timed how long we played... 1st we played Y.M.C.A. and my lips were like okok ar... and so we moved on to the next piece, which was Arioso, ahhh, Ariosoo, A very very slow moving piece, well, not DAT slow la actually, but alot of high long notes for me, basicly, the longer the not and the slower the music, the longer the piece will end, so while playing this piece, i was going like "wen will this song ever end?????" and so i played till it finished, my lips were starting to get abit tired and sore.

The next song dat we played was Kokomo(or like the way i like 2 say it, "komo komo" which means guggle mouth in malay, hee=P), dis song is quite moderate as it has a latin tempo to it, for the fact dat there were not many different notes to play made it a relaxing piece for me and my lips were starting to re-energise again, we ended the song with a big emphasis. Then the next song, i nv liked was Classical Canon, I had to play from the begining till the end and there was onli 4 bars of rest near the end of the song, I was tinking of "NOT FAIR!!!!" cuz the other parts got alot more rests den we did... And dis song tired my lips quite alot and by the time we finished the song, I was like panting away.. And straight away after dat was Livin' La Vida Loca, hmm, u guyz ever heard from Ricky Martin? No!!!! not the "she bangs, she bangs" dis is the "All side, inside out, i am livin la vida loca...." While playing this song, sumtimes I get too lost with the music dat sumtimes I accidentally get off concerntration. This song helps me to relax abit but my lips are abit still sore..

After dat, it was my favourite song of all the songs, it was Kykládes, This was the very first song that i learned wen I joined the main band in sec 2, and it was the song dat made NASSBAND a gold band in the SYF, I have memorised the song oleady, so i had no problem playing the song without the score, the onli problem is that the instrument I played it with is bigger and much lower the sound. This song has 5 movements but we are onli playing 3 of them which are Paros, Naxos and Santorini, The names are taken from islands in Germany. This song suddenly made a big impact for me last year and so it was close to heart and played this song whole-heartedly. After playing that song, which was a mixture of fast and slow music, we were going to play Soul Bossa Nova, the theme from Austin Powers Movies. This song was the most ok song as I didn't get any effect on my lips after dis song ended.

After dis song was Big Bands Play Folk Songs, this song, is quite recognisable but I don't really remember from where. It has a very nice swing to the song as itz a traditional american song, I usually get lost in the middle wen the Key Signature is changed. This song is very tiring for me, not onli for my lips, but for my breathing, I keep on gasping for air each time i play a note and after dis song ends, I'll look as if i have ran a long distance run around S'pore... And finally, the worse songs of the whole performance, I tink dey should change the name of the song to "I will die" cuz sumtimes we can't complete the song. The song dat we are playing last is "I Will Survive", This song, and summore after a VERY tiring performance, tops the whole performance with the most tiring and wrost songs I've ever played... I've got to do a lot of double-tounging which is very tiring for my lips and tounge and I got to gasp for air all the time which makes me tink am I going to survive after dis whole song.

Well, I can't really rite anyting else, cuz i guess there's noting really to say abt, other den my heart being beaten up like a punching bag.... Well, I hope sumday I'll cheer up and get a move on and better not repeat my mistakes... I hope to see alot of my frenz, my TRUE frenz to show up, so, anywayz, tankz again for reading my blog and I juz wanna tell U guyz how much I appriciate U guyz, tankz again and take care!!! ;)
