Dear Bloggie...

I'm seriously sorry for not updating my blog...
I've been a lazy bum for like afew weeks...
Even though I'm often online, I lazy to update...
See how lazy I am?
Lazy lazy lazy lazy lazy...
That's ME!
Maybe just for blogging I am la...
Ok so what have I been up to for the past few long moments of my life...
On the last entry, I wrote that I was going to Batam for camp...
And I did...
It was, ok lah...
Four days and three nights was quite a long time away from home...
The first day was quite an eye opener for me...
Apart from the BORING leadership workshops which were an eye closer for most of us...
So the first day's activity was raft building...
We were supposed to make a raft which is made of 6 barrels, 6 short poles, 6 long poles and nylon strings...
At first we planned on how the raft should look like and where the barrels should be placed...
Then we put the plan into action...
One of my groupmate learned how to tie the nylon string around the barrels...
We helped to position the barrels so that it doesn't slip off...
So we made the raft...
Looks solid as a rock.... But a rock that floats...
We positioned ourselves on the raft...
11 persons on a raft made out of 6 barrels...
But sadly the raft broke down when we were halfway there...
So there's a boat that took us back to the shore...

Second day we went to do high ropes activities...
I actually like doing high ropes...
Cause it's something which I am familiar with...
So I did belaying for two people...
Luckily they are as light as me...
If not, I think I'll fly when they fall or something...
Anywayz, after belaying two people...
It was my turn to do the high ropes...
I expected it to be very easy la...
But the first level when I passed through it...
And I looked down...
From below it didn't look that high, but from above it was VERY high...
But as I went through from first to second stage, it felt better...
As in the height didn't bother me anymore...
The third stage was quite difficult, that's why I took quite a long time on it...
Luckily I got support from my belayer...
At the end of the third stage, we had to go through a flying fox...
To me, I expected it to be faster...
But was disappointed as it was quite slow...
The I got down from the thing...
And it was all over...

Day three of the camp was all about jungle trekking...
There were two groups doing trekking that morning...
And both of us went opposite directions...
My group started out with the hard part of the trekking...
While the other group started with the easy part...
So my group went through tough forestation and muddy swamps first...
And ended off the trekking with an easy walk...
We arrived at the last checkpoint first and the other group came back afew moments after we arrived...
My shoes were super disgusting after trekking...
Went back to the resort and to my room to wash my shoes...
It looked like crap before I cleaned it...
Now it looks more like a shoe...

The food there was just amazing...
Sadly I don't have any pictures on the food I ate...
Or you guys would be drooling all over the place...
But I enjoyed breakfast the most...
Pancakes, scrambled eggs, mee/nasi goreng...
It just felt like heaven...
And there was koko crunch too!
Too long never eat cereals make me feel deprived...

On the fourth day of the camp...
We went to an orphanage home...
I bought some gifts for them before going to Batam...
But when I was there, I wished I could give everything that I have...
Looking at them just made me appreciate the things I have and took for granted...
My group was the one sitting inside the house doing colouring...
There were papers that had barney's picture on it...
And the kids were asked to colour in it...
There was this girl whom me, Olivia and Carol helped to colour...
It looked the nicest out of all the rest, well maybe no one helped the other kids...
I just felt like staying there and looking after them...
But we had to leave...
After saying one last huge good bye...
We took a group picture there and was on our way to shopping...

I exchanged only 30 bucks of Singapore dollar for dunno how many rupiahs...
At first I thought of buying a watch...
But I think again, the price like not really worth it as it's the same as in Singapore...
So in the end, I just used up a small portion of that 30 bucks on eating at A&Ws...
It felt so good after so long of not eating A&Ws that everything tasted new...
Loved the curly fries, the Root Beer float and of cause, the Waffle with Ice Cream...
But sadly I couldn't finish eating everything, left afew stuff only...
Wanted to give to Carol, but she was quite full also...
So we went around the shopping centre...
In search of an arcade...
Of which we finally found one...
Andre and one other guy(sorry I forgot your name) played Time Crisis...
While me and Olivia played House of the Dead...
We didn't have time to play alot as it was time to assemble back...
After going to arcade, we rushed all the way down to the supermarket...
Cause Olivia wanted to buy some buahsusu(sp?) which is some kind of fruit...
After grabbing some buahsusus, she just went out and the security guard stared at her...
Then she walked in back, due to pai seh...
And started to queue to pay for the fruits...

Assembled at around 3.30pm batam time...
I collected the passports and tickets...
Gave out to everyone in my group...
And we started walking towards the ferry terminal...
I thought it would be a short walk...
But it was quite far away as we had to cross a bridge...
We took our bags from the bus and headed to the customs checkpoint...
And by around 4.30pm, we were on the ferry waiting to head back to Singapore...

Reached Singapore at around 6 plus...
It felt good to be on home ground once again...
Even though everything looked familiar, everything felt different...
Four days away from home is a very very very long time ok...
And I realised my hp can last for four days...
But it died on me when I reached Singapore...
So I couldn't call anyone when I arrived...

My reflection for this camp.............
I find that it's quite stressful on my part...
Being a group leader isn't easy, seriously...
And on the last day of the camp, the lecturers were asking me to do alot of stuff...
Which I got a feeling if next year I go for this GYL camp...
I'll be the head leader of the whole camp...
Taking control of my own group was already hard enough...
What more the whole camp...
I guess I learned alot too, through all the experiences...
And even though the workshop was dead BORING, I absorbed some stuff...
So it's not totally wasted ok...
My half concious mind still working though I was half asleep...=X
Anywayz, it was great making new friends, knowing the other side of people no one knew about...
I guess people got to know the real me in camp...
Lastly, I'd like to say that it's a camp like no other I've been through before...=]

Ok I have updated my blog now...
