Dear Bloggie...
...And while fighting they got drunk. O.O"
Ok I didn't blog yesterday night...
Went home late again...
But band practice yesterday night was the most touching and emotional experience ever...
Machu Picchu was played...
One bar before Elegiaco where the gong was crashed, just made me feel super emotional...
Then came Elegiaco...
It was so strong that I felt like crying...
Never have I played a piece that has touched my feelings so strongly...
Kudos to Satoshi Yagisawa for his extremely emotional piece...
Then after that song, Laoban talked to us...
This will be the last IBM he'll be having with SPband...
And gosh yesterday night was super saddening...
He's gonna leave for the states to continue studying next year...
By far, I think he's the greatest conductor I've ever known...
Very outspoken and knows his stuff very well...
Thanks Mr Tan, for all the great experiences you've given us...
Lets make IBM XXIV a great success! =D
Ok today...
Woke up, barely...
Head was still in dreamland...
But forced myself up just to go band...
When I reached, Suky was already in the M-Lab giving her presentation...
So when I came in, I just sat beside Sandy...
Suky continued with her presentation...
But can tell the band wasn't serious about it at all...
I got a feeling, after my IBM concert, they won't be seeing much of me anymore...
Happy right? =X
Dunnid see my sian face anymore...
Anyway...
After the presentation, the majors kinda talked to them...
I should give credit to Liang Rong as he can show that he can be serious too...
After the majors talked to them, they broke off for sectionals...
I took the euphos this time...
Started off with chromatic long tones...
I took a metronome from the cupboard...
And while doing chromatic long tones, I set it to 60 crotchet beats in a minute...
Which is equivalent to the speed of the second for a clock...
It was quite boring, but they got through it...
Then we did tongueing exercises, just by doing staccato up and down the Bb major scale...
Then we did tuning...
James didn't have consistency...
Terrence didn't have air...
Jaslyn had both...
I was quite surprised that Jaslyn played louder then Terrence...
Then did section tuning, was a LITTLE off, so I just let it off...
Did Majulah Singapura...
Did the song bar by bar until everyone could get it...
Even with the metronome on, they were still rushing...
Terrence tried to keep tempo by tapping his feet, but still rushed eventually...
Then I saw Rebecca playing alone, I went over and asked her to join us...
Rebecca's playing isn't that bad...
Just that her slide movements could be a little faster...
And at 10am it was break time...
No one asked me to go out...
So stayed in school practicing some parts for tomorrow's concert...
I must say I'm kinda like 90% prepared for tomorrow now...
Will touch on that later..
After break, went into the M-lab...
I dunno what cliff was doing...
Then Mr Yeo came!
He thought Brayton on how to conduct...
The first few times was still a little unstable, but after that it was clear...
Brayton can be a good student conductor with the proper guidance... =D
Then after combining Majulah Singapura...
Mr Yeo did some technical stuff with the band...
Which I think the band has probably forgotten everything about it by now...
After band prac was over...
I kinda "slept" on the sofa...
Super comfy...
Then got "shoo-ed" by the auntie that called Sandy a boy...=X
Went to tmart KFC for lunch...
Bought the value variety meal thingy they have on promotion...
Ate with Sandy and Felicia...
Sandy was full just by eating a shrooms burget, mashed potatos and pepsi...
Felicia loves eating 2 piece chicken meal...
And I ate twice as much as Sandy...
After lunch, they took 291 home while I walked home...
At home, was super freaking tired plus pissed...
Bathed and prayed, and went to bed...
I could only sleep for 2 hours and I dunno why...
Woke up at around 4.45pm..
Went online, passed the news from Felicia to Mab...
And started listening to Machu Picchu and emo...
Now listening to James Barnes - Third Symphony...
Musicians are damn emo...
Emo = closely in touch with their feelings...
Just let your soul free... Open up your heart... Never get bound by restrictions...
Fly...
Flap your mighty wings and soar high...
Believe that things happend for a reason...
If you fall, try and try again...
The harder you fall, the higher you shall fly...
Gosh James Barnes - Third Symphony, the third movement is just full of hope...
My goosebumps are jumping up and down..
OMG why am I so emo nowadays...
Maybe cause tomorrow is the concert...
THE concert...
IBM XXIV...
My second and final IBM with SPband...
I must say, I've learned ALOT while in SPband...
If I could, I would have joined band in Year 1...
But it's a lil too late for that...
Cherishing every moment I have left in SPband...
IBM XXIV concert!
I think I'll cry tomorrow night during the bar before Elegiaco...
Will see how strong the fortissimo is first...=D
To those coming to my concert tomorrow, I sincerely hope you'll be entertained tomorrow...
And I hope you have fun listening to it as much as I had fun playing for it...=D
Look out for Chorale and Shaker Dance, John Williams, MACHU PICCHU, Marriage of Figaro and Folk Song Suite plus many many more!
Oh, and please don't shout my name...please...
Thanks.
22 hours and 30 mins more to concert, CAN'T WAIT! =D
"He wants you badly, give him a chance will ya? =]"
Zupz Zupz!
